There were 2 Pierces working in New England ca. 1770-1800. First Edward Pierce b.) 1735 in Dorchester. 2nd Ephram Pierce who was apprenticed to Simeon Dogged 1784-89. That said, this mark is more sophisticated and clearer than those in AWP. The plane is 12 inches long and 2 inches wide with a 1 1/2 inch Newbould iron.
