Spill planes are an 18th century device whose purpose is to make spills, a tight curly shaving. These shavings would be used before the advent of matches to transfer flame from a fireplace to lamps or candles. Today they are ideal for lighting cigars or pipes. 10 inches long for use on standard 3/4" stock. The best working spill plane we have ever used.
