Dovetailed steel construction with rosewood infill. Original SORBY 1 5/8 inch snecked iron. This is definitely the original iron as both the plane and the iron are marked "2." Extra fine mouth. The main body is 6 1/8 inches long, 7 1/4 inches with the overhangs. Spectacular mouth. The wedge is not the first but is perfect. There are six examples of TOWELL miter planes pictured in ANTIQUE WOODWORKING TOOLS, D Russell, one of which is dual marked TOWELL & BUCK. The bridge is marked "BUCK 245 TOTTm COURT Rd"
