Last time I went to the hardware store to replace a couple screws in an old tool, I was sent home empty handed. The store had zero flat head screws in stock. Nothing but modern, zinc plated phillips head guaranteed to ruin any traditional woodworking project. Yuck! I just lucked into a stash of over 300 pounds of old screws from the 40s to the 60s. Now I have enough to save every restoration project for two lifetimes. Here is a full box, one gross, 144 screws.
